Customer Reviews
These gaiters worked excellent.
Pack cloth stops sharp thorns and washes off with ease.
Fit my boots perfectly.Easy on easy off. I leave mine on my boots rolling down the top.
Velcro fastenening system stays secure even when you snag it on brush etc.
No dirt, sand, sticks or ticks get through these.
Well worth the money, well made, durable.
I have used these gaiters on several backpacking trips in the MidWest. They are great! No regrets about buying them. I usually wear my pants tucked into them, which keeps the bottom part of your pants clean and dry so that you can wear them around camp without feeling like you need to immediately change into camp clothes. I've also stepped into deep silt sinkholes for a few seconds when crossing a stream and the gaiters kept water from soaking my socks. Mud and grit are easily washed off of them, much easier than washing wool socks and nylon pants.
They are also very effective on the trail at preventing lower leg scratches from low-hanging briars and branches. The elastic fits tight enough around the calf that ticks have a hard time crawling under it, which aids in detection of the little buggers before they setup home in your skin. I've only found one tick in my socks and that was because I didn't velcro the front of the gaiter shut very well.
The strap that goes under the boot is holding up fine and they don't seem all that hot, especially when you consider the advantages of sitting in camp with clean, dry socks and lower pants, with no ticks vampiring your ankles.
